Vigil for the Persecuted in Burma

Venue: Permanent mission of Maynamar

Friday, 23rd August 2019

No entity has been held accountable for the Rohingya Genocide. The event is to remember and commemorate the second anniversary of the genocide & exodus of the Rohingya from Burma (now Myanmar) to Bangladesh in 2017, and tell the world we have not forgotten. We remember the 1 million+ refugees in Bangladesh still without a home, access to permanent healthcare, education, work or citizenship. Moreover, half a million Rohingya still suffering under the Burmese military operation.

The aim is to gather to call attention to demand accountability in the international court for the crimes against humanity committed by the Burmese government and military forces against the Rohingya, and the forgotten Kachin and Karen Christians who have suffered decades under the same cruel, inhumane persecution. Please join us as we gather and stand of all faith groups, ethnic minorities and helpless people in Burma.
