Canada needs your help and it needs it now!

On 15th March 2020, the total number of people infected with Coronavirus or CoVid-19 in Canada was 341. Exactly 15 days later, on 30th March 2020, Canada alarmingly reported more than 6300 cases.

Coronavirus is a highly infectious virus that attacks the lungs of a patient and, in extreme cases, can be lethal. The worst part is that an infected carrier would unknowingly infect all the people he or she comes into contact with because the symptoms don’t show up until it’s too late. Now, the world has gone into lockdown to observe social distancing. This slows down the spread of this virus and gives the health systems to get a better chance to cope up with the decreased influx of patients.

However, a culture of panic and fear spread amongst the working masses because of the lockdown. Projects, services, and shopping centers also close down as people retreat to their homes. This puts the lower working class at significant risk. They can’t earn because most of them are working on a day to day basis. They can be Uber drivers, laborers, restaurant waiters, janitors, plumbers, electricians, cashiers, etc. These people have families to support and cannot pay for their food or their bills. Even if they do secure another source of income, it is usually too late and the necessities in the supermarkets have run out of stock.

Canada has been doing its part in getting ready for this pandemic, with the government passing the emergency coronavirus aid package. However, no matter how financially big an aid package that governments worldwide launch for their countries, there will always be deserving people left who have to go out in search of work and food.

Human Concern International, a Canadian social welfare organization, is fighting for Canada on the grass-root level. They have partnered up with local Muslim organizations to deliver emergency pandemic “Relief Kits” to the families in need, all over Canada. The kits consist of hygiene products, sanitization products, and food boxes. On the HCI website, they say:

“The vulnerable segment of our society does not have the access, or ability to take the same precautions many of us have. They simply don’t have the means to stockpile, like you and me.”

In these trying times, good intentions and ideas are the difference that will slow down the spread of coronavirus. Since social distancing is the key, if you help out needy members of your community, you stop them from being forced to come out and look for jobs and food. You don’t just protect their life, but also your own life, and the lives of your fellow community members.

So donate now to the charities that are out there fighting for your survival. Donate now because with every single donation a family somewhere in Canada can better protect their kids against this pandemic. Donate and be a Hero.

Donate now to Human Concern International so that Canada can survive!
